A Bowen Basin coal mine elimated downtime on its communications trailers and reduced OPEX by 300%
First problem:

During winter months and periods of inclement weather the onsite solar trailers required close monitoring and regular top ups with a portable generator.

Second problem:

The site's dusty environment required regular cleaning of solar panels to ensure sufficient charge for the batteries to keep the equipment powered overnight. This cleaning was as often as every second day.

Solution:

Tekko’s innovative hybrid powered communication trailers combine solar with compact DC diesel generators.

Result:

The hybrid solution provides a redundant power source on the trailers, making them more resilient and increases the platform's capacity.

This solution's autonomous operation removes the requirement for personnel to be in the field during inclement weather, reducing their exposure to risk.

The hybrid trailer reduced the need to clean solar panels from three times a week to once per week - saving our clients 300% on trailer OPEX cost.

This solution can be retrofitted to existing trailers as well as new trailers.

"Tekko's Hybrid Comms Trailers have significantly reduced the time we spend maintaining our trailers and cleaning solar panels. They have improved the reliability of our digital radios system leading to measurable increases in production. The trailers have paid for themselves already."
